Star of the game: Senior back Tiger Powell rushed for 102yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns, while quarterback Cameron Sweat threw for two scores to power visiting Columbia in a District 4-4A victory.
Turning point: After Ridgeview (1-5, 0-1) cut the Tigers' lead to 33-28 with
5:36 left in the game. Columbia (3-1-1, 2-0) drove 65 yards in seven plays, capped by a 14-yard run by Powell to seal the victory with 2:05 left. Pate Quartez rushed three times for 36 yards during the drive.
On defense: Allan Bates returned an interception for a touchdown and Justin Chapala had an interception for the Panthers. Zach Epenship and Clyde Coker each recorded interceptions for the Tigers.
